Alarms & Sensors

Alarms that trigger the right response.

Proper alarm design with the zones, beams, sensors and armed-response linkage that protect a site without driving you crazy with false alarms.

Overview

An alarm is only as good as its weakest sensor and its fastest response. We design alarm systems from the perimeter inward: beams on the boundary, sensors where movement would matter, panic buttons where they can be reached, and clean integration with your armed-response provider.

We also spend time on the parts most installers skip: proper zoning so you know which sensor triggered, pet-friendly PIRs that don't fire every time a dog walks past, and arm/disarm routines that actually fit household or office rhythms.

What's included

  • Control panel (Paradox, DSC, IDS or similar)
  • PIR sensors with pet-friendly options
  • Perimeter beams and boundary detection
  • Magnetic contacts on doors, windows and gates
  • Panic buttons (fixed and wireless)
  • Armed-response integration and signal testing
  • App-based arm/disarm for remote control
  • Integration with CCTV and access control systems

Typical Scope

How a security system project runs

Alarm installs are typically 3-7 days depending on site size.

01

Risk assessment

Walk the site, map vulnerable points, identify where beams, sensors and panics need to go. Discuss arm/disarm routines for the household or office.

02

Zone design

Written zone map with sensor locations, cable paths, panel position and armed-response setup. Fixed quote.

03

Install & cable

Clean cable runs, proper sensor mounting, beam alignment, tamper testing. Panel programmed with your zone layout.

04

Commission with response

Live test with your armed-response provider - confirm signal, timing and response procedure. Family/staff training on the system.

Ideal For

Who this suits

Any site where you need a fast, reliable trigger to armed response.

Homes

Residential alarm systems with sensible zoning and pet-friendly sensors.

Offices

Zoned alarms for after-hours protection with easy daytime access.

Warehouses and yards

Outdoor beams, tamper detection and perimeter coverage.

Farms and estates

Multi-building alarm systems with resilient power and reliable signalling.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I self-monitor or do I need an armed-response contract?

Self-monitor is possible via the app - you get push notifications on triggers. But for real-world response to a break-in, a proper armed-response contract is what actually gets someone there fast. We integrate with most providers.

Which armed-response companies do you integrate with?

Most major providers in Gauteng - ADT, Fidelity, Beagle, Blue Security, Pretoria Security and others. We'll confirm compatibility with your preferred provider in the scoping call.

Are your sensors pet-friendly?

Yes, we specify pet-immune PIRs rated for your dog's weight and height. We also design sensor placement to avoid typical pet paths - so false alarms stay rare.

Can I upgrade my existing alarm instead of replacing it?

Often yes. Paradox, DSC and IDS panels can be upgraded with app control, new sensors and integration rather than replacing the whole system. We'll audit what you have first.

Can the alarm integrate with my cameras?

Yes - when the alarm triggers, we can auto-record and push a clip from the relevant camera to your phone. Useful for distinguishing real incidents from false triggers.
