Surveillance

Cameras that actually help when something happens.

Layered surveillance systems designed around real risk, not camera counts. You get coverage where it matters, recordings you can actually use, and remote access that works on day 365.

Overview

Most CCTV installs sell you a number - '4 cameras', '8 cameras', '16 cameras' - without asking what you actually need to see. The result is cameras aimed at walls and blind spots where incidents actually happen.

We design CCTV around specific risk points: entrances, approach routes, cash points, production floors, hot spots. Each camera has a documented purpose and a view that matches it. Recording retention, remote access and AI detection are built around the same risk map.

Typical Scope

How a CCTV project runs

Most CCTV installs are scoped and installed within 1-3 weeks - depending on cable pulls and number of cameras.

01

Risk walkthrough

We walk the site with you and identify actual risk points - where incidents have happened, where you're blind today, and what you'd want footage of if something went wrong.

02

Coverage design

Per-camera placement, angle and resolution plan. Cable paths. NVR sizing. Remote access setup. Fixed quote on equipment and install.

03

Install & calibrate

Cameras mounted, pointed and calibrated on-site. IR range tested at night. Trunking and cable runs tidied and labelled.

04

Training & handover

Walk through the app, show how to search recordings, export clips and grant family or staff access. Ongoing support after go-live.

FAQ

Common questions

How many cameras do I need?

Fewer than people expect, but each one well placed. A 4-camera system properly designed beats 12 aimed at walls. We scope from risk backwards, not camera counts forwards.

What resolution do I need?

Depends on what you want to do with the footage. Identifying a face needs more resolution than 'something happened here at 3am'. We spec per camera rather than blanket-selling 4K everywhere.

How long is footage kept?

Standard retention is 14-30 days on local NVR storage. High-risk cameras can run 60-90 days. Cloud clip backup for flagged events can run indefinitely.

Can I view the cameras remotely?

Yes, on phone and laptop. You can grant specific access to family members, staff or guards - each with their own login and logged activity.

Will armed response see my cameras?

If you want. We integrate with most South African response companies so they can view relevant cameras during an incident. This is optional - you control who has access.
