Agricultural

Coverage across real distances.

Long-range wireless, outdoor CCTV, resilient power and telemetry designed for agricultural sites - the kind that span kilometres, have no grid backup, and can't afford to go dark.

Overview

Farms aren't scaled-up houses. Distances are in kilometres, not metres. Power cuts last hours, not minutes. Weather is a real factor, not an inconvenience. And a failed camera on a remote gate doesn't get noticed for a week.

We design farm infrastructure for those realities. Long-range point-to-point wireless instead of WiFi extenders. Solar-backed power instead of hoping the grid holds. Outdoor-rated cameras with resolution that actually lets you identify vehicles at 40 metres. And remote monitoring so you know when something's wrong before someone drives out to check.

What's included

  • Long-range point-to-point wireless links (up to 15km)
  • Outdoor-rated CCTV with night-vision and AI detection
  • Solar-backed power for remote cameras and access points
  • LTE/4G fallback for connectivity resilience
  • Gate cameras with licence-plate recognition (optional)
  • Farm-wide WiFi coverage - house, sheds, barns, yards
  • Telemetry for water tanks, pump stations, fuel levels
  • Remote management portal for off-site monitoring

Typical Scope

How a smart farm project runs

Farm projects take longer to scope because distance and terrain drive the design. Typical install 3-6 weeks.

01

Site walk

We drive the property with you. Map buildings, critical access points, existing infrastructure. Identify line-of-sight paths, power sources, hot spots.

02

Coverage design

Written scope with camera placements, wireless link paths, power budget, and a phasing plan so we prioritise high-risk areas first.

03

Installation

Tower/pole mounts, weather-rated cable, solar setups for remote points. Often split across multiple site visits so we can commission in phases.

04

Remote support

Ongoing monitoring portal. We can often diagnose and fix things remotely without a site visit - saves you time and us a 2-hour drive.

Ideal For

Who this suits

Farm operations where being blind at the gate or the back fence isn't an option.

Game farms

Perimeter monitoring, gate cameras, ranger radio networks.

Production farms

Gate security, workshop CCTV, connectivity for the farm office.

Storage and packing facilities

Yard security, loading bay cameras, cold-store telemetry.

Equestrian estates

Stable cameras, gate access, extended WiFi across riding arenas.

FAQ

Common questions

Do your installs keep working during load shedding?

Yes - solar-backed power points and UPS on critical infrastructure mean cameras, gates and network keep running through typical load shedding. Multi-day outages are rare but we can design for them.

How far can you push wireless coverage?

Point-to-point links reach 10-15km with clear line of sight and proper towers. WiFi for people reaches anywhere we install an access point - farm office, sheds, guesthouse - linked back to the main connection.

What happens if fibre/LTE drops?

Multi-WAN setups fail over to LTE automatically. Cameras keep recording locally on the NVR and upload when connection returns. You don't lose footage to an outage.

Can I monitor a farm remotely from another property or overseas?

Yes. Full remote app access on phone/laptop, cloud-recorded clips for key events, and email/push alerts on movement or incidents.

Who does servicing when we're far from Pretoria?

Most issues we fix remotely through the management portal. On-site visits are planned and scheduled - we don't ambush you for emergency callouts that could have been fixed in 10 minutes of remote work.

Ready to scope your smart farm project?

We'll visit the site, map what's there, and come back with a practical scope and a fixed quote.
